About

Hood River Fire Department

The Hood River Fire Department serves the city of Hood River, Oregon, and its surrounding areas with comprehensive fire protection, emergency medical services, and rescue operations. It plays a crucial role in ensuring community safety through reliable and effective emergency services.

Hood River Fire & EMS is responsible for ensuring that our people and equipment are ready to safely and effectively respond to fire, emergency medical and other 911 calls. The department maintains this capability with a minimum of four (4) firefighter/paramedics on-duty around the clock, responding from our station within the City of Hood River and our 145 square mile Ambulance Service Area (ASA) in Hood River and Wasco Counties.  As of July 2023, we have a 40-hour firefighter to assist during our busiest times of the week thanks to a grant from the Office of State Fire Marshal
