Serving the communities of Chemult and Crescent in northern Klamath County, Oregon, the Chemult Rural Fire Protection District provides fire suppression and emergency medical services to a rural coverage area of 250 square miles. The district operates out of a single station, Station 1, built in 1987 to house both the district's fire apparatus and ambulances.

As a 100% volunteer department, the Chemult Rural Fire Protection District relies on community members to help protect life and property in the area 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Volunteers respond to various calls including structure fires, wildland fires, medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, and more. The district welcomes new volunteer firefighters and EMTs who can make a difference in their community through public service.

Overseen by a Board of Directors, the Chemult Rural Fire Protection District meets regularly on the second Thursday of each month. The public is encouraged to attend board meetings and stay informed.

With a Facebook following of over 500 people, the Chemult Rural Fire Protection District uses social media to share news, incidents, events, and safety information with the community. The district values community engagement and public education as part of its mission to protect life, property, and the environment.

Proudly serving for over 30 years, the volunteers of the Chemult Rural Fire Protection District remain committed to providing skilled, compassionate, and dependable emergency response to their friends and neighbors in northern Klamath County.
